Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was “badly injured” in a road incident in Kirkcaldy.
Officers say the 40-year-old was involved in an altercation with a car driver. She was thrown from the car and then dragged a short distance before falling to the ground.
The incident happened near the Beveridge Park roundabout at around 4.45pm on Wednesday.
DS Sammy Davidson said: “We are taking this incident extremely seriously as it left the woman badly injured.
“I understand from the victim that there were a number of cars directly behind this vehicle at the time.
“We are following a positive line of enquiry but we are keen to trace the drivers of these cars.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
