A Dundee councillor has been issued with an “informal warning” by police following an assault at the city’s SNP parliamentary office.
Officers had charged environment convener Craig Melville after they received a complaint about an incident involving a work colleague at the Old Glamis Road premises in December 2014.
After examining the circumstances, Police Scotland has closed the investigation and issued him with an “informal adult warning”.
A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 35-year-old man received an informal adult warning after an incident.”
Mr Melville, who is a councillor for the Maryfield area of the city, confirmed that the “minor incident” had been “dealt with”.
