The chick has travelled 1,600 miles since flying the nest.
Almost a week after flying the nest, a famous young Perthshire resident has already reached sunnier climes.
While the rest of us endured a wet and miserable day, Blue YZ the 50th chick to be born to the osprey affectionately known as Lady has been enjoying a jaunt through Spain.
Staff and volunteers at Loch of the Lowes have been eagerly following the raptor’s migration, thanks to a satellite tag fitted earlier this year.
The latest data shows that Blue YZ has travelled more than 1,600 miles from the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Dunkeld reserve and is now just 17 miles from the last known location of Blue 44, Lady’s only chick from last year.
