ByThe Courier Reporter
A cat has been shot twice with a suspected air rifle in the Oakley area, police have revealed.
The cat lives on Sir George Bruce Road with its owner, who had let it out at around 11pm on Monday.
However, the man was shocked to see his cat return around 6am on Tuesday with two metal pellets in its body and immediately called the police.
The cat was taken to the vet for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
However, police described it as “an extremely cruel act against a defenceless animal” and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
