Discovering Britain TV cameras put focus on Scone Palace
ByRichard Burdge
The secrets of Scone Palace will be revealed to a national television audience this week.
The ancient crowning place of Scottish kings where the coronations of Macbeth, Robert the Bruce and Charles II took place will take centre stage on More4’s Discovering Britain.
The programme celebrates the country’s outdoors, history and culture and is hosted by Maureen Lipman and Larry Lamb.
Sarah Butler, chief executive of Scone Palace, said the visit by the two well-known faces would help to promote the palace and the wider area to a large audience.
“As one of Britain’s oldest and most iconic landmarks, we were delighted to welcome the Discovering Britain team here last summer to celebrate our heritage and explore some of the remarkable moments in history that took place right here at Scone Palace,” she said.
“We hope people will tune in and discover Scone Palace’s many fascinating stories.”
The programme is on Wednesday at 9pm. To find out more about Scone Palace, visit www.scone-palace.co.uk.
