They think it’s Alloa. It is now! football superstar David Beckham takes tour of town’s whisky plant

Courier country whisky workers were left gob-smacked when football star David Beckham arrived for a tour of their workplace.
The former England captain visited Diageo plants near Alloa for a private tour with his manager, Pop Idol creator, Simon Fuller.
It is thought the Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder had been staying at nearby Gleneagles Hotel when he arranged the viewing of the plant’s 500,000 bottles at Menstrie’s Blackgrange warehouse and the cooperage site at Cambus.
A spokesman from Diageo said, “Every day we welcome visitors from around the world to our historic Scotch whisky sites.
“We were delighted to host a private visit by David Beckham while he was in Scotland with Simon Fuller, who is a good friend of Diageo.”
