Dundee Rep’s critically-acclaimed production of iconic play to tour Scotland

The Scottish tour of Dundee Rep Theatre’s critically-acclaimed production of The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil is returning in the autumn.

The iconic political play was a huge success at the Rep in September when it smashed box office records.

It will once again be performed in Dundee, from August 31 until September 10, before embarking on a Scottish tour which will be its first professional tour for more than 20 years.

The play was written by renowned British playwright, director and political theorist John McGrath.

Many of the issues and themes covered in the play are as topical today as they were back in the 1970s, such as the North Sea oil industry.
