Staff at Cromars have been kept busier than usual over the last week by the throngs of people who descended on St Andrews for the Open. Now the chippy has been shortlisted along with seven other Scottish shops in the 2016 National Fish and Chip Awards. The Scottish regional winner will then compete to take the national title of Inpendent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year. Manager Colin Cromar said: “We have great staff here and all work hard, so we’re proud to be shortlisted again. “We’ve used 120 bags of tatties and up to 100 stone of fish over the past week, which, for a wee shop like ours, is phenomenal.”
