Former Dundee United man Craig Conway out in the cold

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay insists he left ex-Dundee United Scottish Cup hero Craig Conway out of his Premier League squad for his own good.
The 28-year-old, who wrote his name in Bluebirds history last season with the goal which secured promotion to the top flight, was the highest profile casualty of Mackay’s 25-man roster.
Conway, who scored twice against Ross County in 2010, was deemed surplus to requirements and will be allowed to leave the club on loan.
Mackay says it was not a “cold decision” and believes the snub will actually help Conway establish himself at international level and add to his five caps.
He said: “It was unfortunate for Craig, but he has always said that he desperately wants to be playing football. That is fine and I totally understand that.”
