Two men are being hunted for attempted murder following a targeted stabbing in the middle of a busy road in broad daylight.
The men jumped out of a black Vauxhall Corsa and stabbed a 19-year-old man who was walking along Dumbarton Road near to Dyke Road, Yoker, Glasgow, at around 1.30pm on Friday.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the Western Infirmary, where hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
There is no description of the men involved.
Detective Constable Scott Brockie, of Drumchapel CID, said: “We know that this was a targeted attack, however, in saying that, for it to happen in the middle of the afternoon, near to a busy main road and houses where lots of people are about, beggars belief.
“The car raced off north on Dyke Road after the attack – did you see the car and where it went after that?
“Also, Dumbarton Road is a very busy road with lots of vehicles, pedestrians – basically lots of people would have been about. I am sure that someone saw this attack happen and will have information, possibly in their mind insignificant, but which may be great importance to us.
“I would ask that if you do, or indeed have any details that will assist officers with our inquiries, that you contact Drumchapel police office via the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
