Perth Leisure Pool staff condemn ‘horrible hoax’ being spread online

Perth Leisure Pool is at the centre of a sick online hoax.

Bosses issued a warning after a fake news story began circulating on social media.

The bogus page stated that the pool had been closed for good after a nine-year-old boy was found dead in a jacuzzi.

Pool staff posted on Facebook: “It has come to our attention that there is a really horrible hoax online news story being shared on Facebook regarding an incident at Perth Leisure Pool and it states that the pool is closed.

“We can categorically state that this is a complete hoax and would advise that you ignore any message you see like this, we would certainly recommend that you don’t click on the post.”

The spokeswoman added: “Please be assured you will always know on here and on our website if there are ever any closures. We would appreciate it greatly if you could share this message amongst your friends.”
