Long delays after Claypotts junction traffic lights fail
ByAndrew Argo
Commuters have been facing long delays this morning after the traffic lights at the Claypotts junction went out.
Police sent an officer to control traffic at the junction of Arbroath Road and Claypotts Road when the problem was reported at 7.45am.
The lights break-down could not have happened at a worse time with commuter traffic on the A92 at a peak.
Despite the best efforts of the officer on duty, there was soon a long queue of traffic stretching a mile back to beyond the Balgillo Road East junction.
Drivers reported being stuck in traffic for up to half an hour before being able to reach the junction.
Engineers efforts’ to fix the fault remotely were unsuccessful and they were despatched to the scene.
The lights were still out of action at 9.45am.
