An Angus woman spent two nights in hospital after a dog mauled her arm in Dundee.
Tracey McAllister from the village of Fern, near Brechin, was attacked by a mastiff cross on a leash in Old Craigie Road.
The bite left a wound in Tracey’s arm that required 13 stitches at Ninewells Hospital.
Mum-of-three Tracey, 53, who describes herself as a dog lover, said: “The woman had the dog on a lead and as it came walking past it grabbed my arm.
“It was yanking on my sleeve and I couldn’t get it off.
“Eventually a man kicked the dog to get it off.
“It was terrible.
“At first I thought it was just my sleeve that was ripped until I noticed that it had taken a big chunk out of my arm too.
“I was in shock at the time and then once my arm got released and I saw the injury, I felt quite sick and faint.
“The man who helped get the dog off had a handkerchief and he tied it around my arm to stop the bleeding.”
A resident of the street took Tracey, pictured above, to hospital, where she was taken to theatre and put under a general anaesthetic.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Officers are aware of an incident involving a dog in Dundee on Tuesday.
“Inquiries are ongoing at this time.”
