The birth of his first child, a 100th goal and three points against the league leaders made it a couple of unforgettable days for Dundee striker Peter MacDonald.
The Dark Blues’ top scorer, who saw son Lyle arriving into the world late on Thursday night, admitted: “That was the best day of my life. It was emotional and frightening.”
The weekend was capped off when the former Rangers and St Johnstone man struck Dundee’s third goal of a 3-0 win at Hamilton, which takes them to within just three points of Saturday’s opponents.
“I think that was my 100th career goal as well,” MacDonald noted.
“I was too knackered to do any special goal celebration because we all put in a real shift out there.”
