A man has been jailed after he smashed a 40-inch television over his partner’s head and asked him ‘Do you still love me?’ Graham Dixon attacked Stuart Whyte at a flat in Dundee city centre after a night out. The victim had asked Dixon how he intended to get home as he didn’t want him to stay over at his home. The 29-year-old then punched his lover in the face and smashed the TV over his head before asking: Do you still love me?’ Dundee Sheriff Court heard how Mr Whyte was punched until he fell to the ground. Dixon continued to attack him as he lay on the floor before throwing the television, which struck his victim on the head. The accused continued attacking his partner after asking him if he still loved him. Mr Whyte managed to punch his attacker once as he was being choked before flagging down a taxi to take him to police HQ. Dixon pleaded guilty on indictment to charges of assault to injury and failing to appear at an earlier court hearing. Sheriff Alistair Brown jailed him for eight months.
