A serving Dundee head teacher who “inspired all her pupils” has died unexpectedly following a heart operation.
Marion Myles, 54, was head teacher atSt Joseph’s Primary School.
Former pupils, colleagues and relatives spoke of a caring and loving woman, whose faith and students were central to her work.
Husband Bryan said: “She was a teacher at heart. She inspired me as well, and she was just such an important person in so many people’s lives.
“She got me smithing again, helped me design and inspired iron art for me.
“The same thing she said to her pupils she said to me, ‘you have the skills, son’.”
“She dedicated her life to thosechildren.I remember her talking about a student with Down’s syndrome and she said none of her students have special needs, they are all equal at the school.
“She was a fantastic person and she inspired so many people to do what they wanted to do. She would encourage all of us and hold our hands.
“But she wasn’t a pushover, she could be a hard task master.If you found yourself in her office you knew you’d done something wrong.”
Her family described a woman who loved skiing and music and held her faith close to her heart.
St John’s, another of Dundee’s Catholic schools, said: “Please keep the family of Mrs Marion Myles, who died this morning, and our friends at St Joseph’s Primary in your prayers.”
West End councillor Fraser Macpherson said: “I’m very sorry to hear this news.
“It is deeply tragic that someone so young has passed away.”

Megan said: “Can’t believe my primary school head teacher passed away thismorning, such a shock, RIP Mrs Myles.”
