Owner says Taychreggan Hotel flats plan ‘may or may not happen’
ByThe Courier Reporter
The owner of a Broughty Ferry hotel has insisted that it will keep its doors open, despite applying for planning permission to turn the hotel into flats.
Taychreggan Hotel owner Kenny Nicoll said the decision to apply for permission to build six flats on the site of the Ellieslea Road hotel was simply to hedge his bets for the future.
“The hotel is not closing,” he told The Courier. “We are trading successfully and will continue to do so.
“We have three to five years to make a decision once planning permission is submitted, and this is a project which may or may not happen.
“We only opened around a year and a half ago and things have been going well.”
