Council accused of treating public with contempt after V&A viewing platform requests snubbed

Dundee City Council has been accused of treating taxpayers with contempt after they snubbed requests from residents to get a closer look at the construction of the V&A.
A bid by culture vultures to install a viewing platform to see the £80 million building take shape was knocked back by the local authority who suggested peering through a chain link fence would be adequate.
Councillor Richard McCready said the response was a let-down for the people of Dundee who “should be able to see how their money is being spent”.
