Respected Broughty Ferry GP, church elder and golf captain, Dr Alistair Forrester, has died after a battle with multiple myeloma.
Born in Glasgow, Dr Forrester graduated from St Andrews University in 1966 and began work as a doctor in Dundee in 1969 at Garland Place and went on to become a senior partner at the Princes Street surgery.
Dr Forrester was given the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners shortly before he retired from full-time work in 2002.
He carried on doing locum work in the area and also dedicated his time to medical charity work abroad.
Dr Forrester was elder at Dundee Parish Church (St Mary’s) and had been a member of Downfield and Panmure golf clubs and captain of the Dundee Medical Golfing Society.
He was also a member of Monifieth Hillwalking Club and former vice-president of the Grampian Club.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, four children and four grandchildren.
