Dunfermline death: two men and a woman appear in court

Three people have appeared in court following the death of 26-year-old Fife man Arif Mahmood in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two men, aged 25 and 29, and a 23-year-old woman appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday charged with assault.
Shaun Mitchell, 29, whose address was given as Fife, made no plea or declaration to charges of assault to danger of life, assault to severe injury and danger of life.
The case was committed for further examination and the accused was remanded in custody.
Clare Janet Wallace Buchanan, 23, who address was given as Fife, made no plea or declaration to a charge of assault to danger of life.
The case was committed for further examination and the accused was granted bail.
Gavin Edward Kirkcaldy, 25, whose address was given as Fife, made no plea or declaration to charges of culpable and reckless conduct.
The case was committed for further examination and the accused was remanded in custody.
Mr Mahmood was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital following the incident, which occurred in the centre of Dunfermline around 2am on Sunday morning, but later died.
