POLICE IN Dundee have issued a public health warning after a haul of legal highs was stolen from a city retailer.
Thieves broke into the Just the Thing shop on Albert Street at around 12.10am yesterday and made off with a range of new psychoactive substances.
Investigating officers said quantities of YPH Out, Columbiana, Icenberg and White Millimetre had been taken in the raid.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area early yesterday.
They are also urging any members of the public who come into possession of the substances not to take them.
Inspector Graham Young said: “There is a continued misconception that new pyschoactive substances, or so-called legal highs, are safe because they are not illegal to purchase.
“This is quite simply not true and we would urge the public never to consume these chemicals.
“You do not know what you are putting into your body or the adverse impact they may have.
“If you are approached by anyone trying to privately sell these items then I would ask that you do not accept them and instead contact the police immediately.”
Anyone with information relating to the break-in can get in touch with the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
