Police resume search for missing Stonehaven woman at north east beauty spot

Police resumed their search along the coastline at Dunnottar Castle for missing Stonehaven woman Shona Johnston on Wednesday morning.
The 35-year-old was last seen at about 1.00pm on Tuesday in the Robert Street area of Stonehaven.
She is described as around 5′ 6″ in height, with short brown hair and of slim build. When last seen she was wearing blue jeans, ankle boots and possibly a blue zip up jacket.
A black Nissan X-trail vehicle, which is believed to belong to Ms Johnston, was found late parked at Dunnottar Castle late on Tuesday afternoon, sparking a major search in the area .
The search resumed at first-light on Wednesday.
Police and Coastguard crews from Stonehaven, Montrose, Carnoustie and Aberdeen are all searching the cliff edges and shore lines between Stonehaven and Catterline in a bid to find Ms Johnston, who is originally from Orkney.
