Brechin boss Ray McKinnon is facing an injury crisis ahead of this weekend’s match at home to Stranraer.
Last Saturday was one to forget for the Glebe gaffer as his side crashed to a desperately disappointing 4-0 defeat at Airdrie, a loss that was compounded by first-half injuries to on-loan Rangers youngster Kyle McAusland as well as Alan Trouten.
Now, McKinnon fears another player has joined them on an injury list that already included former Hearts midfielder Callum Tapping and Craig Molloy.
The manager said: “Kyle took a bad one on his shin and has had an X-ray but it was inconclusive.
“His leg is still swollen and badly bruised and he is receiving treatment at Ibrox.
“Hopefully we will have a better picture on Thursday night but he has to be doubtful for the weekend.
“Alan Trouten will definitely miss out. It is the third time this season he has hurt his groin and the physio reckons he will be out for up to six weeks which is a big blow for us.
“Callum has had a wee run on the treadmill but we are still no closer to knowing how long he will be out with his medial ligament injury which is frustrating.
“Tiger (Molloy) has a similar injury but we reckon it is now not as bad as we first thought and we are keeping our fingers crossed that he will be fit again around the start of November.
“However, Colin Hamilton tweaked his hamstring at training on Tuesday night so there is a chance we will be without five key players this weekend which is obviously not good.
“However, we are determined to make up for the Airdrie defeat. It was the first time this season where we didn’t have a real go at the opposition so we will just have to rally the troops and look to put it right against Stranraer.”
