Elderly woman injured crossing road in Arbroath

A 77-year-old woman has been taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital following a collision in Arbroath this morning.

The woman was crossing East Muirlands Road at around 11.20am when she was involved in an accident with a white Skoda Fabia.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with hip injuries and suspected internal injuries.

Police say the road has been closed while investigators examine the scene. Diversions are in place.
