Resurfacing work will start this weekend on a section of the M9 used by around 11,000 vehicles every day.
A 650m stretch of the southbound carriagewaybetween junction 9, Bannockburn, and junction 8, Hill of Kinnaird, will be upgraded. The £200,000 project by Transport Scotland will be carried out over two weekends.
The first phase will begin tomorrow at 8pm and end on Monday at 6am. The second part of the work will start on Friday August 2 at 8pm and will be completed by Monday August 5 at 6am.
A contraflow system will be in place during the work, with one lane in operation for each direction. A speed limit of 40mph will also be in place.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using Sepa-approved methods.
The work is being carried out by Aggregate Industries for BEAR Scotland.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s operating company representative in the South East, said: “These works are being carried out over two weekends to minimise delays to motorists.
“We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance, where possible.”
