Tia Serman, 13, daughter of Barnardo’s Leven retail employee Peter Serman, had her head shaved on Saturday to raise money for Barnardo’s Scotland.
The Leven store held the event with Mad Hackers, the hairdressers next door, which shaved Tia’s head in-store.
Sponsor sheets had already been circulating in the community and there was the opportunity for further collections on the day.
Tia said: “I want to raise money for Barnardo’s Scotland to help children less fortunate than myself.
“A friend did the same for another charity, and I hope to raise more than £100. My parents think I am very brave for someone my age, but I will miss doing fancy stuff to my hair for a while.”
Peter said he was very proud of Tia.
“It’s something I can’t do,” he said.
This was the most daring fundraising adventure to be undertaken by the Leven store, which has previously competed in a window display competition and won.
