Police have recovered heroin with an estimated street value of £50,000 in Dundee.
Three people a 42-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman both from Glasgow and a 28-year-old man from Dundee have been charged in connection with the incident and are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The drugs were recovered in the Fintry area of the city by officers from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit. It is the third recovery of class A drugs in the city within a week, with an overall value totalling approximately £225,000.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gall said: ‘‘That is a significant amount of illegal drugs that will not now contaminate our communities in Dundee and is the result of my officers continued determination and efforts to disrupt and detect those individuals involved in the distribution of controlled drugs throughout Scotland.
‘‘Police Scotland will continue to target individuals and crime groups who seek to distribute drugs into our communities. No one should doubt our determination to disrupt their illicit trade.’’
