A Dundee DJ is appealing for the return of his laptop containing a year’s worth of his music after it was stolen during a break-in.
Adrian Hossain, 28, who runs local clubnight Control*Alt*Defeat at the Reading Rooms under the name of ADO, says hundreds of musical projects, none of which has been backed up, were on the silver Macbook Pro, which was taken after a break-in to his girlfriend’s flat in Whitfield.
The thief also made off with her silver Macbook Air, plus other personal items.
Adrian said he normally guarded the computer with his life as all his new productions and musical ideas are on there.
He said: “I know I should have backed it all up but I just hadn’t got round to it. I wouldn’t bother if they were backed up because we could have claimed off the insurance for another laptop and that would have been fine. But it’s a whole year’s work, all my music.
“There are hundreds of new projects on there and I was at the point where about 15 tracks were finished and ready to go.
“I always work late into the night about eight hours a night doing my music and I put my heart and soul into it. I’m totally gutted. It’s a total nightmare for me and unless I get it back I won’t ever get that music back the same again.
“I would ask if anybody knows anything about what’s happened, or if anybody is offered a MacBook Pro or Air for a cheap sale, then let the police know and hopefully I can get my work back.”
A police spokesman said: “Tayside Division are making enquiries after a break-in to a house at Duns Crescent, Dundee, some time between 10pm on Monday, July 8 and 9am on Tuesday, July 9.
“Thieves made off with two silver Macbook computers and personal items. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer.”
