Dangerous driver jailed after hitting fence and car

A Dundee man who drove dangerously, collided with a fence and another car and failed to stop for police while a child was in the car has been jailed for a year.
Robert Hay, 41, of Balunie Avenue, had admitted the offences on July 16 at Balmerino Road, Balunie Avenue, Baldovie Gardens, Baldovie Terrace, Balunie Street and Baluniefield Road.
He pleaded guilty to failing to give way at junctions and comply with road markings, striking a fence and another car and driving at excessive speed in a 30mph zone with numerous pedestrians and other vehicles present.
Hay, who was on bail, also admitted he failed to stop for police constables and while a child was a front seat passenger.
As well as being jailed for 12 months he was disqualified for three years.
Hay had also admitted possession of diamorphine and driving without insurance on the same date but was admonished and dismissed on those charges.
