A fresh appeal for information has been made about a student who disappeared two months ago.
Yulia Solodyankina was last seen on CCTV at Glasgow’s Buchanan Street bus station at around 4.55pm on June 7. Officers believe she boarded a bus to the north or far west of Scotland.
The charity Missing People is highlighting Ms Solodyankina’s disappearance on message boards across Scotland this week. Her most likely destinations are thought to be Fort William or Inverness.
The 22-year-old Russian, who was studying physics at Edinburgh University, was reported missing on June 12. She left Edinburgh of her own accord and nothing about her disappearance is suspicious, according to police.
Chief Inspector Mark Patterson said Police Scotland will not give up on efforts to trace her.
“Since she was reported missing we have carried out extensive inquires across Scotland, most recently in the north and far west of the country where we believe she may have travelled from Buchanan Street bus station on Friday June 7,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we have been unable to establish her destination and we are relying on new information from the public that can help us to open up new potential lines of inquiry.
“Rest assured that we will act upon any new information we receive regarding her potential whereabouts, and I would once again urge anyone who thinks they may have seen her since she went missing two months ago to contact us.”
Ms Solodyankina speaks fluent English with a strong Russian accent. She is 5ft 6in and has a small mole on her left cheek. Her ears are pierced and she wears rings on her fingers, including a distinctive thumb ring shaped like a small spoon.
