Video has emerged showing the moment a journalist from Tayside was injured while reporting on the conflict in Ukraine.
Former Perth High School pupil Graham Phillips, who was born in Dundee, has now been released from hospital in Donetsk after being treated for injuries suffered when he was struck by a fragment from a mine thrown at pro-independence fighters on November 24.
He said he is “feeling good” about being released and has vowed to return to covering the conflict.
Cleared to leave hospital on day release today, feeling good, and thank you so much for (almost) all of the wishes 😉 pic.twitter.com/kwN9Wxqm0F

“I’ll be back reporting, recording soon, from the frontline, getting you the best footage, but with a greater appreciation of the situation,” he tweeted.
Graham had previously shared video of the moments leading up to his injuries, but the new footage (from 3:55 in the video above) shows him being tended to by soldiers.
My injuries need another 3 weeks of treatment, but the prognosis is for a full recovery with no long-term effects. pic.twitter.com/IWAGxzqAVg
