The Solas Festival is set to kick off in Perthshire this weekend by challenging current thinking on food.
The event will also see Fife’s food ambassador, Christopher Trotter, lead a host of speakers. The Larder venue at the festival will host discussions on how food production can be better, cleaner and fairer.
Cooking demonstrations will be led by chefs Tony Heath, Ian Mcnaught, head chef at the Roman Camp Country House Hotel and a Masterchef of Great Britain, and Tim Dover, from the Roost Restaurant in Bridge of Earn.
In keeping with a food theme of Wild and Natural, these chefs will be using the best of the seasonal Scottish produce that is available within a 50-mile radius of Perth.
The introduction of the Larder venue adds to the array of creative choices available at the festival, which also offers music, theatre, visual and performing arts, literature, film, debate, workshops for adults and children, and soul space, plus various exhibitors and traders.
