The murder of a woman whose dismembered remains were found in a shallow grave will feature on BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow programme.
A major inquiry was launched when a cyclist discovered the unidentified body on Edinburgh’s Corstorphine Hill on June 6.
Police say they have taken around 90 witness statements, fielded around 100 calls and distributed 10,000 leaflets to the public in an effort to find out who the woman was.
So far, nine names of people have been put forward but all have been traced safe and well.
Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie, from Police Scotland, will make a fresh appeal on the television show on Thursday.
“In the two weeks since the victim’s body was discovered we have carried out extensive inquiries and have made a number of appeals for information to assist our investigation. We have had a fantastic response from members of the public and the media to our appeals for assistance in identifying her,” he said.
“However, we still await that one vital call.”
“We have released a detailed physical description of the woman who we know was white, middle-aged, short in height and with a slim build. She has had significant cosmetic work on her teeth and was wearing a number of distinctive rings, images of which have been released to the public.
“We still, however, await that vital call and I am urging anyone with information that can help us make that breakthrough to get in touch.”
Anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101.
The Crimewatch Roadshow, which features unsolved cases, is on at 9.15am on BBC One on Thursday.
