The new Olympia Centre has been praised by a leading swimming club before it even opens its doors.
Menzieshill Whitehall Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club said it wanted to show its appreciation for the “magnificent efforts” of the city council and Leisure and Culture Dundee in creating the venue.
President Murray McLeod said: “Over the last few days almost 100 of our members, along with the other aquatic club members, have experienced first-hand the facility as test users.
“The feedback is one of delight and excitement for what is now on offer in the city.
“The competitive swimming facilities are something that will allow swimmers an enhanced chance to reach their full potential and following a test swimming gala it is great to see our city being able to offer 50m and 25m competition.
“Our water polo players played a test match in the new 30m pool, which has full electronic timing and scoring facilities, meaning the city can now offer unrivalled pitch access and allow the potential that has always been in Dundee to reach the very top of the sport.”
Mr McLeod said it had not been easy to accommodate the needs of all users but the city now has a facility it can be proud of.
