Planning is well under way for Arbroath’s 24-hour race Relay for Life event, which takes place on September 21.
The next meeting of the organising committee will take place on Tuesday, at 7pm, at Arbroath United Cricket Club on Keptie Road. There is an open invitation to anyone interested in taking part.
Chairwoman Alana Loudon said: “Anyone who would like to be involved as part of a team, as a survivor, carers, individuals, entertainers, all are welcome to come along at 8pm for more information and to hear what we are planning for this year.
“We are still looking for teams and survivors to take part and to sign up to ensure our survivors have a very special day.”
Arbroath has established a twinning arrangement with Frankston Relay For Life in Australia, which takes place on the same weekend.
Ms Loudon said the committee had been inspired by the story of Maddison Gilbert, a five-year-old girl from Frankston, who cut her 20cm ponytail that will be turned into wigs for children going through cancer treatment.
