A fast-growing Fife precision engineering firm is targeting new opportunities after investing in two new high-tech tooling machines.
Launched in 2009, Cupar’s Contract Solutions has grown rapidly and now employs a team of 10 staff with turnover surpassing the £1 million milestone.
The company has now secured backing from RBS to purchase two new Matsuura MX520 precision milling machines which will allow it to engineer larger components with greater accuracy and speed.
The firm supplies bespoke parts for the telecoms, aerospace, motorsports, defence and automotive industries.
Founder Rab Duncan who set up the business after his two engineer sons Graham and Jamie had found themselves redundant said the new equipment would help drive the company forward.
“In this business, quality and delivery rule; the new piece of equipment supports this,” he said. “We were at the stage where this investment was pivotal to meeting customer demands.
“With further expansion, a new office complex and clean room, we now have both the physical and human resource capacity for further expansion in the future.”
Garry Horne, relationship manager at RBS in Cupar, said Contract Solutions were a dynamic young company.
He said: “We’ve seen them grow from a start-up in a farm-shed to turning over £1m in just over three years.”
