Residents in Stanley have expressed their concerns in the wake of a sex attack on a teenage girl that has shocked the Perthshire village.
Police continued their delivery of around 900 letters to householders and had a visible presence in Stanley following the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl near a bothy on a road approaching Stanley Mills on Sunday evening.
The girl was sexually assaulted by the man, who then walked off. He was wearing a light-blue hoodie top and spoke in a foreign language.
Officers also carried out further inquiries yesterday, including visiting Stanley Mills.
Morag Middleton, a mother of two who co-runs Stanley Post Office in Percy Street, said many people are “obviously quite concerned” at the incident.
“It is very concerning, especially if you have children who are wandering around,” she said.
A customer at TH Stevenson & Sons butchers, also in Percy Street, Stanley, who did not wish to be named, said he was aware of more police activity in the village following the incident.
“It is a terrible thing to have taken place here,” he said.
