Police horses have returned to Dundee this week to help deal with anti-social behaviour and traffic offences.
Constables Hazel Kirk and Jennifer Weir, along with horses Kilsyth and Roseneith, proved a real hit with the community. The horses working alongside officers show the new relationship evolving in Police Scotland.
National assets including people, vehicles, knowledge, skills and even animals can be targeted to where they are needed most across Scotland.
The police said the opportunities unite the best of national policing with the best of community policing to deliver the highest standards possible and keep people safe.
Tayside Divisional Commander Hamish Macpherson said: ‘‘The appearance of horses in the streets and even the police helicopter in the skies over Tayside are probably the most overt sign people will see as evidence that we are Police Scotland and Tayside Police is no more.
“We are now working more closely with our colleagues throughout Scotland than we ever have before.”
