Police hunt Lochee garage thieves after £10,000 robbery
ByGrant Smith
Police are hunting thieves who targeted a family-run garage in Lochee.
Equipment and a customer’s car, worth more than £10,000 in total, were stolen from Perrie Street Autocentre.
Owner Pete Nicoll said: “We got the keys for here in March and spent six weeks renovating it. We thought it would be a safe yard. They’ve jumped over our neighbour’s wall and used levers to force open the doors.
“I think they’ve taken the car as a getaway vehicle. It’s absolutely gutting. You lose all your motivation to keep on going.”
The garage was broken into between midnight and 6am on Monday. Alongside the silver Skoda Octavia estate (reg GN53 LCM), the thieves took three electric impact guns and their charges, an engine diagnostic machine, a battery charger, an air ratchet, electrical welding equipment and motorbike equipment. Mr Nicoll’s son Peter had his personal bag of tools stolen too.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101.
