The boat was scrambled on two occasions as people headed to the coast to make the most of the weather. The first alarm was raised shortly after midday on Saturday after a cyclist fell off her bike on the Fife Coastal Path between Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy. Ambulance crews requested the RNLI’s help to pick the woman from a difficult-to-access part of the path. Helm Joanne Wibberley said: “Once we spotted the casualty we took the lifeboat into a small natural harbour which was accessible with the high tide. “The casualty, who had fallen from her bike, had suffered cuts and bruises and a suspected head injury. “We got her on to the lifeboat and returned to Kinghorn where the ambulance was waiting. “The lifeboat allowed a rapid recovery in this instance. It was a long walk back along the coastal path.” Meanwhile, the boat was launched for a second time on Sunday after a jet ski broke down in the Forth near Burntisland. The stricken craft was towed back to shore by a local dive boat. There were no reports of any casualties.
