Mearns folk are preparing for lederhosen in Laurencekirk and Frauleins in Fettercairn ahead of a possible German visitor boom.
More than 35,000 people in Frankfurt have viewed a website promoting the area as a destination.
The hits were part of a VisitScotland consumer marketing campaign, in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council, which targeted consumers in the city and surrounding district.
The campaign’s aims were to raise awareness of the North East as a gateway to explore Scotland.
Shona Anderson, regional director for VisitScotland, said: “These are excellent results and they build on the success of previous joint campaigns run over the last five years.
“Germany is an important target market for the North East, as it is the largest European travel market to Scotland.”
Peter Argyle, chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s infrastructure services committee, said: “This has been a great opportunity to strengthen tourism links between the North East of Scotland and Germany.”
