A SUPERMARKET worker is appealing to the public for help after his motorbike was stolen while he worked an evening shift at a city centre store.
Glen Head (21) had been saving up for months to buy his £600 Honda MTX bike.
He left Tesco’s Murraygate shop at 10pm last Wednesday to find it had vanished from its parking space opposite the Olympia swimming pool.
Glen’s dad John contacted The Courier in the hope of jogging someone’s memory and tracking down the culprit as well asreuniting Glen with his beloved bike.
John, who lives with his son in Newbigging, said: “We’re really upset and annoyed about this because Glen had been working extra hours so he could save up to buy this motorbike.
“It cost £600, which is a lot of money to him, and he’s only had it for about six months.
“He’s a quiet, conscientious boy who works hard and pays his taxes, so he doesn’t deserve this.”
Glen, who attendedNewbigging Primary School and Harris Academy, overcame serious heart problems as a youngster.
He secured permanent employment with Tesco after impressing during a six-week work programme.
John said: “He needs his bike because the bustimetable to Newbigging doesn’t fit in with his hours.
“I had to pick him up after midnight the day after his bike was stolen.
“The police said they looked at the CCTV footage of the area but couldn’t find anything.
“There were lots of people around so it’s quite possible someone saw something.
“My theory is that someone has maybe pulled up in a van and then slung it in the back.”
A spokesman for Tayside Police said: “I can confirm we received a report about a motorcycle stolen on January 2. Inquiries are continuing.”
