Montrose boss Paul Hegarty saw his side lose their unbeaten home record last week now he is looking for his players to make amends by banishing their away-day blues.
The Gable Endies had won all four of their games at Links Park before the visit of East Fife, who triumphed 4-1 against a Montrose side reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Greg Pascazio.
Hegarty is now demanding his team bounce back by winning for the first time this season on the road when they visit Queen’s Park with the manager’s squad having been bolstered by the return of fans’ favourite, goalie Sandy Wood.
Hegarty said: “I really must thank Sandy for doing us a right good turn and signing for us.
“With on-loan keeper Jordan Miller out injured, we needed a back-up for Ross Salmon.
“It is really difficult bringing another keeper in from another club but Sandy is a free agent and knows Montrose well.
“So he will be in our squad for the trip to Queen’s Park as we look to bounce back from last week’s defeat.
“The loss to East Fife was a bit of a double whammy as we also lost our proud home record.
“It was really disappointing especially as we had started the game really well.
“It was a learning curve for our young lads and an expensive one as it has cost us three points and the momentum of our home record.
“I am now looking for a response against Queen’s Park.
“Like all our opposition, I have had them watched and Gus MacPherson is an astute manager.
“So we know it will be tough but I am looking for that reaction to last week’s game and now would be a perfect time to secure our first away victory of the season.”
Pascazio will miss the game as he begins a two-match suspension while Paul Watson is still in rehab after a recent hernia op.
