Two new appointments to NHS Tayside board

Stephen Hay and Douglas Cross have been appointed non-executive members of NHS Tayside board.

Mr Hay is a management consultant focusing on healthcare, finance and sustainability. He was the former managing director at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 20 years in London and Tokyo.

He helped to found Circle Health, where he focused on new business development, and was a non-executive director at the Homerton University Foundation Trust Hospital, chairing the environmental and audit committees.

Mr Cross is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with 39 years of experience predominantly operating at senior/director level in the private and public sector.

He was director of corporate services for Tayside Police, where his responsibilities included delivery of efficient and cost-effective support services to support operational policing. He was also executive lead for best value, achieving cash efficiency targets and risk management.

In 2006 he was awarded an OBE for services to policing in Scotland.

NHS Tayside chairman Sandy Watson said: “I am certain that the background, experience and range of skills of both Stephen Hay and Douglas Cross will enable them to make a valuable and significant contribution to the workings of NHS Tayside.”
