Country music singer Shelby Lynne has pulled out of Perth’s Southern Fried Festival.
The Grammy Award-winning artist was due to perform on the opening night of the three-day event, which celebrates American Roots music.
It is not yet known why the Virginia-born vocalist has cancelled.
Pam Dochard, a spokeswoman for the festival, said: “Sorry to confirm that Shelby Lynne has cancelled all her forthcoming UK and European dates, including her Southern Fried show on Friday July 19.
“We are currently working with our good friends at Summertyne Festival in Gateshead and Cambridge Folk Festival to secure a suitable replacement act to perform alongside Bettye LaVette at our opening concert.
“Refunds will be available on request, but we would advise that ticketholders wait until we have our replacement act in place before they consider this.”
Shelby’s father killed her mother and then shot himself on the lawn outside their Alabama home when the singer was aged 17.
Other acts performing at the festival include the Mavericks, Patty Griffin, Darrell Scott, Danny Thompson, the McCrary Sisters, Tom Russell, Larkin Poe and Brennen Leigh.
