Emotional appeal to find missing sailor Timmy MacColl after new lead

The wife of a Perthshire sailor who went missing exactly a year ago has made a fresh appeal for help to solve the mystery of his disappearance.
Originally from Killin, Leading Seaman Timmy MacColl was last seen on May 27 last year during shore leave from HMS Westminster in Dubai.
Earlier this year, in an effort to move on with her life and that of the couple’s three children, Rachael Maccoll decided to discontinue the campaign group Bring Timmy Home.
However, in light of potential new leads in the case, Mrs MacColl spoke out on the significant anniversary.
“In recent weeks new witnesses have come forward to state that he made it back to Port Rashid, where he was then seen subsequently leaving in another taxi from the ship back out into Dubai,” she said.
“Today we are appealing for witnesses from the ship to come forward if they know of any information on where he’s gone.
“So it’s quite a significant lead that has happened in the last few weeks. It is incredibly hard, sitting there thinking that he’s alone somewhere, especially for my children.
“There is someone out there with the answers.”
