A Dundee man granted bail after he admitted assaulting a policeman has bragged online about receiving an easy ride in court.
Twenty-one year old Lee McPherson, of Kingennie Court, joked on Facebook about his experience at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The former Braeview Academy pupil admitted that on Albert Street on March 10 this year he assaulted police officers, damaged a police car, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and made threats of violence.
He also admitted that on Whitfield Drive on April 23 he committed a breach of the peace, uttered threats of violence and swore. He further admitted assaulting Constable James Gordon and attempting to butt him.
McPherson was granted bail and sentencing was deferred until June 26 for reports.
However, despite the potential jail sentence hanging over him, he took to Facebook on Tuesday evening and posted on Tuesday: “Justgot (sic) a curfew and a drinking ban fae courttt, sore one hahahahah.”
McPherson then mocked the curfew order, joking he would be “creeping round” to a party on Friday night.
There was no answer at McPherson’s home when The Courier visited.
Scottish Conservative chief whip John Lamont said: “When the criminals are bragging about how soft the Scottish justice system is, we know there’s a problem.
“Hopefully, the court will bear in mind Mr McPherson’s boastings when he comes to be sentenced in June.”
