Woman driver dies after colliding with lorry on A90 near Brechin

A woman died in an early-morning crash near Brechin on Tuesday.
The woman understood to be in her early 40s has died after the car she was driving was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry on the southbound carriageway of the A90, near Stracathro, shortly after 5am.
Emergency services were quick to attend at the collision, but the woman, who was driving a dark Ford car, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt.
The southbound carriageway was closed until around 1pm as crash investigators carried out an examination of the scene.A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There was a serious road accident involving a car and a stationary lorry on the southbound carriageway.”There is one fatality, the driver of the vehicle.”
Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses to call 101, or speak to any officer.
