Glamis Castle hosted the Strathmore Highland Games on Sunday, with dry weather helping to boost visitor numbers.
The former Forfar event, renamed Strathmore Games after its move to the spectacular setting of the castle grounds, has not enjoyed the best of weather in recent years and although the sun was not splitting the sky as it had done across Angus on Saturday, dry conditions brought out the crowds.
It saw Strathmore set fair for a turnout in the thousands which the committee said was easily the biggest at Glamis, boosted by a host of international visitors who were able to enjoy a traditional games alongside the splendour of the top Angus tourist attraction.
On the field there was also an international flavour with Polish heavy Lucas Wenta returning to the Angus event where he competed with his brothers in 2012, and he triumphed in the two shot events.Photo gallery: Strathmore Highland Games
