An incident which resulted in a gas explosion at a house in Rosyth on Tuesday night is not being treated as suspicious.
The Courier understands the incident may have involved a camping gas stove being used in the kitchen. The 29-year-old woman who was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night was named locally as Debbie-Lee Beurskens.
Neighbours said she moved to the area recently and lives with her 10-year-old daughter Kiara.
The Courier told how the woman was in her end-terraced two-storey home when the explosion ripped through the property on the town’s Sherbrooke Road, causing “substantial” damage.
The woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Police said the only other occupant of the house, a 10-year-old child, was uninjured. Neighbours said the force of the blast blew out the front window of the home several feet into the garden.
It is understood the house’s internal walls had also collapsed. The woman was initially treated by neighbours before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
It is believed that her injuries were caused by glass cuts. There was more damage to the back of the house.
